Book Blogger Hop – September 10, 2010

The Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Jennifer over at Crazy For Books

This week the question asks: Post a link to a favorite post or book review that you have written in the past three months.

Answer: I thought this was a terrific idea for the Hop this week. I so often find that the days in which I post only a book review are the days when I receive the least amount of traffic on my blog. It drives me nuts sometimes, that the memes, the posts I often put the least effort into, attract the most attention. I was really unsure which book review to make a link to, as I have only been keeping this blog for about 3 months. I hummed and hawed and decided I should go with the first one I ever posted. I hope you enjoy it.

About Robbie

Hi there, my name is Robbie Burns (no,really, that’s my name…hold the haggis jokes please) and I would like to welcome you to the Pink Sheep Cafe. I started this blog as a means of discussing books and all things literary in light of my perpetual isolation. At the time I began writing, I was living in Split, Croatia. There wasn’t much here in the way of English book clubs and I couldn’t work, so I badly needed something to help me bide my time. My partner and I have since left Croatia and returned to Canada to live in Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories. When we first moved back here, my blog writing sort of fell by the wayside, but now I seem to be back on track. I try to read and review a little bit of everything here; I think everyone can find something to their liking here. I find myself tending more towards more literary reads these days, but I also enjoy a lot of YA and children’s fiction. One of my ongoing goals is to work my way through all of the Nobel Laureates. My two most favorite authors are Timothy Findley and Halldor Laxness.

Joining you from at the hop. I saw your blog thought wow, Pink Sheep and knew I had to visit. Nice to meet you, I’ve enjoyed visiting.

  3. Trina says:

First, I love the blog name. Second, great choice of book and review. I am actually intrigued and have to add that to my growing list of TBR books. Third, I just love the pink cow background.

I love a well-organized blog, simplicity, and solid reviews. You’ve got it all here. Love it.

Trina, thanks for your wonderful comments. It’s great to get such positive feedback. My pink sheep is a little hurt that you mistook his brothers for cows, but he says he will forgive you this time 😉

      • Trina says:

Oh for goodness’ sake. I have clearly lost my mind. People are really going to think I’m drinking the virtual cosmos I talk about on my blog. I’m completely sober. I swear. Just exhausted.

And I see pink sheep everywhere. I hope others see them too.

The blog hop is the only meme I do, and it’s to those I get the most traffic too, it makes me a little nuts too because my blog was always about the books. The only reason I really do the hop is to find new books to read and to share what I’ve read, but I don’t get much traffic during the week.

  8. Hey!! I’m hoping through and wanted to check on your pink sheep. Hope you’re having a fun weekend. If you have time Hop by my blog

  9. Elizabeth says:

    Hi…just hopping by.

    Happy Hopping and Happy Blogfest.

Head on over to my blog for my answer to this week’s question…perfect question for the weekend of the Blogfest.
